FEED

Hunger and malnutrition can affect every aspect of a person's life. It makes us more susceptible to disease, it allows for physical deficiencies due to lack of nutrients and it stunts our mental abilities. Especially those of a young child. The global food crisis we face is a serious issue and one that needs our attention. These issues exist not only abroad, but also in our own backyards.

School feeding is one of the most effective solutions to empowering children to break the cycle of poverty they were born into. When boys and girls are given a free, hot and nutritious meal in school, research shows attendance and performance greatly increases. For many children, a school lunch is the only meal they will receive all day and is often taken home to provide dinner for their families. Food gets children to school, gives them the energy they need to learn and enables them to better their lives.

FEED was founded with the simple mission of creating good products that help feed the children of the world. It began in 2006 when acclaimed model and activist Lauren Bush designed a bag to benefit the United Nations World School Feeding Program, which feeds and educates hungry children. She first created the FEED 1 bag to help raise funds and awareness around school feeding programs. A set donation was built into the cost of each bag, which was stamped with the number 1 to signify the profits from each bag would feed 1 child in school for 1 year. To date, FEED has raised enough money through the sales of their bags and products to give over 60 million school meals to children in the United States and around the world and provide better nutrition education for their families.

Brooklyn and Owen Bamber have chosen to give back this year by donating their 6th and 8th birthday celebrations to benefit FEED. In lieu of hosting parties and accepting traditional gifts, their wish is that you purchase a FEED 10 bag; Each FEED 10 bag sold will provide 10 children school meals through the United Nations World School Feeding Program. Please share this video and their mission with your children and join Glitter Lemonade in championing their cause. By providing a child with nutritious food, you are providing more than just a meal. You are investing in a child’s future. Please invest in Brooklyn and Owen's futures, by empowering them to make a difference: PURCHASE
